Young Women Camp 2023

Each camper will make a difference in creating an atmosphere of faith, friendship, and fun.  Every camper has an important responsibility to contribute to the overall success of Camp.  We will follow the Church standards for dress and behavior, as detailed in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet. If you do not have a copy of this pamphlet, contact your Bishop or Young Women President.  Following these standards and rules will help ensure we achieve our camp goals.

Goal 1: To Build Relationships with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ

  • Invite the Spirit into Camp by living all of the standards in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet.
  • Pray and read the scriptures daily.
  • Keep the Word of Wisdom (no smoking, drugs, or alcohol).
  • All medications (prescribed or over-the-counter) must be turned in to the nurse at check in.
  • Dress consistently with Church standards of modesty.
    • Modest Shirts - no tank tops, bare midriffs, or sleeveless tops.
    • Capris or pants.
    • Modest Swimsuit - tankinis acceptable, no bare midriff.
    • Shoes - only tennis shoes or hiking-boots. No open-toed shoes.
    • No body piercings with the exception of a single hole in each ear.

Goal 2: To Build Relationships with Other Young Women and Leaders in the Gospel

  • Build friendships with other girls and leaders by treating everyone with respect and kindness.
  • Do not cause anyone harm, hurt feelings, or extra work.  Pranks, vandalism or graffiti are forbidden.
  • Use language carefully (no swearing, gossiping, put-downs, or lying).
  • Respect the person and belongings of everyone else.  Also, remember you are responsible for everything you bring.  Leave unnecessary valuables at home (money, jewelry, electronics etc).
  • Do not leave your tent after lights out at 10:00 p.m. without a leader.
  • Be on time for  flag, meals, capers, all assigned duties, and scheduled activities.
  • Cooperate with adult leaders and follow their instructions and guidance.
  • Stay within the boundaries of camp.  Late arrivals or early departures must be approved in advance.  Visitors are not permitted at camp.

Goal 3: To Build Relationships with Nature

  • Enjoy and protect the natural setting of Camp.  Keep tent and camp areas clean.
  • Leave all electronic devices at home (including cell phones, ipods, personal electronic devices, etc).
  • For safety and friendship, be with at least one buddy at all times.
  • To conserve water, showers must be short (3 minutes). Remember to turn water on and off while showering.
  • Appreciate the beauty of yourself and others. No curling irons or hair dryers.

Camper’s Pledge of Cooperation:

I agree to abide by all camp rules and instructions, both in letter and in spirit. I agree not to leave camp. Should I be on a hike or expedition beyond the boundaries of the camp, I agree to stay with the leader of that group and under her supervision at all times, without exception. I will not go ahead of the group or fall behind the group while out of camp. I will participate in this camping experience with an attitude of good sportsmanship and good faith. I will contribute wholeheartedly of my friendship, enthusiasm, talents, and cooperation that this may be a choice experience for all concerned. I will honestly fulfill my assigned camp duties. If any unforeseen difficulties arise, I will counsel at once with my leaders in a spirit of love and friendship.
